Who should use this training
You and your staff should use this training if you feel an improved understanding of the foot would benefit residents.
The sites we have provided this training for have reported a better awareness of carers towards foot problems. This has therefore enabled previously unidentified problems to be observed at the crucial early stage of development. The Footwear education included in this training session has also assisted in the purchase of correct shoes to aid mobility, comfort and to reduce foot pathology.
This educational session does not cover all possible ailments; however, it will provide a valuable core understanding for staff to provide a higher level of care.
It is set out in an easy to follow format which will benefit all levels of staff. It is important for staff to understand and appreciate that correct foot care is vital because it can greatly impact quality of life if neglected.
