As a nurse or carer, you are too familiar with the consequences of dehydration amongst the elderly – including confusion, UTIs & constipation. While we are frequently aware of how much we should be drinking, in reality getting our residents to meet these targets is often difficult to achieve.

Who should do this training?
An education session for RNs, ENS, care staff and catering. All disciplines can benefit from this session, that has been created to promote a team approach to managing dehydration of elderly residents.

This training session is effective at raising awareness of dehydration in your facility. The practical components of this session increase the availability of fluids to your residents, while giving them an increased motivation to consume them.
It is set out in an easy to follow format which will benefit all levels of staff. It is important for staff to understand and appreciate that correct hydration is vital and can greatly impact quality of life if neglected.
